AACEP Goals
Expand national and local networks of Asian American and other targeted minority business leaders in order to defend and advance minority contracting programs in the public and private sector.
Continue to develop tools and training modules for Asian American business leaders, helping to expand the number of voices in the Asian American community who can effectively advocate the support of affirmative action on both a national and local level.
Liaise with Asian American business associations across the U.S. to collect testimonials of Asian American business owners who have suffered discrimination in a government contracting context. This will assist with reauthorization processes and the defense of current yet threatened M/WBE public contracting ordinances.
Build a database of Asian American experts who are experienced in speaking and testifying before Congress, at briefings and on other occasions.
Produce reports containing data on the extent of discrimination, for use in litigation, policy development and to educate the general public. These reports will be the centerpiece of a national communication dissemination strategy.
Compile local data sets that can be used both to address local challenges to Asian American inclusion in affirmative action programs and to serve as a model for other regions.
