The Asian American Justice Center (AAJC) strongly condemns the massive fee increases announced Tuesday by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). Under the new fee schedule, set to start on July 30, 2007, citizenship fees will rise from $400 to $675, an increase of 69 percent. Immigrants applying for lawful permanent resident status will now need to pay more than $1,000.
