
Tuyet Le is the executive director of the Asian American Institute. AAI is a pan-Asian, not-for-profit organization that promotes equity for Asian Americans through advocacy, by utilizing research, education and coalition building. Recently, AAI received the Ernest M. Pon Memorial Award from the National Association for Ethnic Studies. The award recognizes Asian and Asian American organizations dedicated to human rights, equal justice, as well as furthering research concerning Asians.
Currently, she serves on the boards of the National Council of Asian Pacific Americans, the Illinois Coalition for Immigrants and Refugee Rights, and the Chicago Reporter.
Ms. Le previously worked at the Vietnamese Association of Illinois, and last served as its Acting Executive Director. She was a member of the 2004 Leadership Greater Chicago Fellows Class, and recently received awards from the Cook County State’s Attorney and the Organization for Chinese Americans for her work on including Asian Americans in Chicago’s construction affirmative action program.
